We are excited to announce the long-awaited Community Opening of the new Atherton Community Centre on Friday, November 24. After almost a decade of planning, the opening will celebrate the completion of the project, introduce the new centre and invite the local community to come and enjoy the new facilities.

The event will start with a formal introduction at 1:00 pm where speakers will share their insights about the project’s journey and significance. Better Together President Joe Paronella, former CEO John Russell and Local Member Shane Knuth will provide valuable perspectives on the development of the Atherton Community Centre, shedding light on its origins and the vision for the community.

Following the formal proceedings, the celebration will continue with a range of activities for everyone to enjoy. The schedule will include drumming, live music, practical workshops and exciting activities for kids, including face painting, bubbles, fairy floss, a Mega Slide, and a BBQ. The community “fair” portion of the event is set to commence around 1:30 pm

All members of the community, both young and old, are invited to join the celebration. In addition to all the exciting festivities, attendees will have a chance to participate in the lucky door prize giveaway, with a bumper hamper for adults and 10 prize packs for the kids.

We are grateful to the community for their continued support throughout the project’s journey. The Atherton Community Centre is a reflection of the collective efforts and shared vision for a stronger, more connected community.
